For your assessment you will be creating your own digital story and to check your progression and learning, you will also develop and post on your own blog.

Time to get Blogging...

In your second week of the term you will get the opportunity in class to learn how to format blog/forum posts for your formative assessment. This means you won't be marked on it, but will allow me, Miss Ingram, to make sure you are up to date and understand what we are learning.

Using the forum on this website, each week me you will be asked to respond and reflect upon ideas and tasks presented in class, as well as virtually communicate with your peers. The posts will provide you the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of text types, the use of media texts, text structure and persuasive language devices. It will also be the place to publish your final digital story!

Digital Story

Using your knowledge from this term’s unit, you are to create a persuasive digital story targeted at high school students that positions them to view your topic from a particular perspective. You are then to publish your final digital story on your created blog.

  • Should animals be kept in cages?

  • Should everyone have access to education?

  • Should there be equal pay between the genders?

  • Should uniforms be compulsory for students?

2. Create a persuasive script that will provide the voice for your digital story utilising language techniques examined throughout the unit.

3. Develop a storyboard that outlines how you will create your digital story.

Your storyboard and script must be checked by the teacher prior to developing your audio and visual elements.

5. Publish your digital story along with your reflection on your blog to be marked. Below are reflective prompts to assist:

  • What is the purpose of a digital story?

  • How can I construct a digital story using digital elements?

  • How can I use digital elements to position the audience?
